The City of McAllen is encouraging residents to recycle their Christmas trees this holiday season to lessen the amount of waste in the landfills. Live Christmas trees are biodegradable and the trunk and branches can be used as mulch for gardens, parks and in animal stalls.

The mulch provides a protective barrier for the roots of other plants and vegetation while preventing weeds from growing. The mulch then decomposes providing needed nutrients to plants.

“The holiday season is a great time to remember to give back to your community by recycling your Christmas tree,” says Ouina Rutledge, McAllen Recycling Center Director. “Instead of burning your tree you can bring it by our Christmas tree drop off locations to recycle it."

O noua reclama Microsoft ...

Unul din ultimele weekend-uri pline pe malul marii in acest sezon... Cand am fost de revelion in Barcelona am vazut din Parcul Güel, pe o casa din vecinatatea parcului o inscriptie funny:

"Why call it tourist season if we can't shoot them?"

Si am gasit pe google ca s-a mai scris despre mesajul respectiv, de exemplu aici.

Eu nu sunt asa de categorica ca spaniolii, dar as vrea sa se nu se mai inghesuie tot romanul la mare DOAR in weekend.

Ieri am fost la plaja la Vadu ... este destul de departe, nu se poate ajunge decat cu masina, nu este nimic amenajat pe plaja, deci trebuie sa veniti echipati cu tot ce va trebuie de acasa, dar este o zona deosebit de frumoasa. Intrarea in apa este lina, valurile sunt super. Din pacate incepe sa se umple de corturi. Aici am vazut cele mai mari meduze de pana acum, cu un diametru de 25-30 cm.
Poze nu pun, va las sa descoperiti singuri frumusetea locurilor. Daca ajungeti acolo va ROG sa nu aruncati gunoaiele pe plaja.
